My Little Island takes pre-primary learners on an exciting fantasy-island adventure with characters their own age in a unique and engaging program that makes learning English fun.

About the course
My Little Island creates a friendly and engaging place for children to begin their journey in learning English
This unique and engaging program takes children on an exciting fantasy-island adventure with characters their age. There is a mascot, Sammy the Squirrel (a puppet), to guide children throughout the program and support them as they learn (when he isn’t getting into mischief). My Little Island builds learners’ confidence using English by attaching meaning through Total Physical Response (TPR) activities.

The four-skills-based story approach slowly builds increasing language proficiency with advancing activities to help children learn to communicate in English. Increasing language proficiency is built through prereading/reading, prewriting/writing, listening and speaking lessons and activities.

Each level has nine units. After an introductory welcome unit, eight thematic units are recycled and build on each other at each program level.

Developed by Pearson Education for 3-6-year-old non-native English learners, this immersive early English program adopts a “Whole Child Approach”, integrating language development with cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
